Ashari Purnima

Happy Full Moon Day / Ashari Full Moon 2021 I would like to wish and congratulate everyone on the occasion of Happy Ashari  Purnima today.  I wish happiness, peace and longevity to all the creatures of the world. Ashari Purnima / Purnima Day, one of the major religious festivals of the Buddhist community, is celebrating Ashari Purnima with devotion today. This day commemorates three significant events in the life of the Buddha. Prince Siddhartha left his kingdom on this day in search of eternal truth. After attaining the highest enlightenment as a Buddha, he preached for the first time among his five disciples at Banaras in India on this day.   The full moon is also important because Buddhist monks start a three-month long solitude in their monasteries for self-correction and atonement from the next day to the full moon.   Buddhists have been observing rituals on this day for many centuries.  Festivals are celebrated on the occasion of the full moon.   I wi...

Benefits of internet and social media

Why is it so important to give back to your community?

Why is it so important to find a cause you love and volunteer your time? Spending time enriching your community is a great way to broaden your perceptions of the world. By immersing yourself in a community and surrounding yourself with people who are dedicated to bettering the world, you can learn so much about how the world works. You gain a unique sense of purpose by serving those around you, one which often manifests in other areas of your life.  Of course, it’s also important for your community! Without volunteers, many of the services and events we enjoy in our communities would not be so readily available. Spending time helping out at local shelters or food banks provides an important service to less fortunate neighbors. Giving back to the place you call home helps to unite the community and bridge some of the social, economic and political gaps.

Hi, Friends, Today I'm feeling happy, healthy and prosperity as I'm able to feed the hungry with the help of my friends living living in abroad. In fact, it wouldn't have been possible for me to do by myself without the support of my friends. I believe together we can do anything and I'm really needed good friends to work with me to fight with the hungry during this global pandemic.

It is surrounded by many other villages like Undermanek, Gabasury, Sihphir, Matrisora, Diblibagh, Samuksury, Ugudasury, Tuikawi, and Kauduar. The village often experience severe flooding and devastating mudslides during rainy season, causing road closures and demolished homes.   In 2017, our founder Dana came to know this remote village through the internet and decided to volunteer at the Mahabodhi Residential School (MBRS). Along with a volunteer, they ran cultural exchange workshops to help bring cultural awareness and built the village’s first library with a total of 162 books. Since then, SOLWW has developed a close connection with the village and has been providing support to the Chakma students at MBRS.
