Ashari Purnima

Happy Full Moon Day / Ashari Full Moon 2021 I would like to wish and congratulate everyone on the occasion of Happy Ashari  Purnima today.  I wish happiness, peace and longevity to all the creatures of the world. Ashari Purnima / Purnima Day, one of the major religious festivals of the Buddhist community, is celebrating Ashari Purnima with devotion today. This day commemorates three significant events in the life of the Buddha. Prince Siddhartha left his kingdom on this day in search of eternal truth. After attaining the highest enlightenment as a Buddha, he preached for the first time among his five disciples at Banaras in India on this day.   The full moon is also important because Buddhist monks start a three-month long solitude in their monasteries for self-correction and atonement from the next day to the full moon.   Buddhists have been observing rituals on this day for many centuries.  Festivals are celebrated on the occasion of the full moon.   I wi...

Benefits of internet and social media

The internet and social media provide young people with a range of benefits, and opportunities to empower themselves in a variety of ways. Young people can maintain social connections and support networks that otherwise wouldn't be possible, and can access more information than ever before. The communities and social interactions young people form online can be invaluable for bolstering and developing young people's self-confidence and social skills. This will help you to: 1. understand some of the benefits of internet and social media 2. understand why technology is so attractive to young people 3. understand the positive uses of social media and online spaces talk to young people about what they use technology for. The use of social media and networking services such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat have become an integral part of Australians’ daily lives. While many associate social media with a degradation of young people’s social networks and communication sk...

Why is it so important to give back to your community?

Why is it so important to find a cause you love and volunteer your time? Spending time enriching your community is a great way to broaden your perceptions of the world. By immersing yourself in a community and surrounding yourself with people who are dedicated to bettering the world, you can learn so much about how the world works. You gain a unique sense of purpose by serving those around you, one which often manifests in other areas of your life.  Of course, it’s also important for your community! Without volunteers, many of the services and events we enjoy in our communities would not be so readily available. Spending time helping out at local shelters or food banks provides an important service to less fortunate neighbors. Giving back to the place you call home helps to unite the community and bridge some of the social, economic and political gaps.

Hi, Friends, Today I'm feeling happy, healthy and prosperity as I'm able to feed the hungry with the help of my friends living living in abroad. In fact, it wouldn't have been possible for me to do by myself without the support of my friends. I believe together we can do anything and I'm really needed good friends to work with me to fight with the hungry during this global pandemic.

It is surrounded by many other villages like Undermanek, Gabasury, Sihphir, Matrisora, Diblibagh, Samuksury, Ugudasury, Tuikawi, and Kauduar. The village often experience severe flooding and devastating mudslides during rainy season, causing road closures and demolished homes.   In 2017, our founder Dana came to know this remote village through the internet and decided to volunteer at the Mahabodhi Residential School (MBRS). About Clifford Carter of U.S.A.

About Clifford: He is the founder of Inner Warrior spirit. Mr Clifford is a Navy Veteran- Submarine Service USS NYC, Pearl Harbor. “His childhood was informed by Midwestern Christian values. And later, as a young adult, he became informed by Eastern philosophies. As a Navy Veteran and PTSD survivor, He became aware of the importance of mindfulness found in Buddhist traditions as a healing modality in working with the effects of PTSD. He developed a process which helps him come back to awareness in the moment whenever he felt triggered by his trauma: observing the breath, recognizing the sensations, accepting sensations, and letting go. Recently he started a non-profit to support veterans working with PTSD. Inner Warrior Spirit is veteran focused, but is open to anyone interested in mindfulness and mediation practice.”

Visits of Sachi G.Dastidar of U.S.A.

Some people in the world – including India – may have heard about Mizoram, but very few would have heard of Tuichawng in Mizoram. Mizoram is a state of India located in hard-to-reach Northeast India; formerly the Lushai Hills District of Assam State, renamed Mizoram after an insurgency and subsequent peaceful resolution. Mizoram is sandwiched between Burma (Myanmar) and Bangladesh with the northern part connected to Assam and Manipur states of India. Even today the landlocked area has only two connections to the world – by air through the small airport and through a road through the hills connecting her to Assam and rest of India. There is no formal border crossing through its long international borders with Burma and Bangladesh. The state is evergreen and picturesque, heavily forested with a large number of mountain ranges and valleys that straddle the land from north to south. It is still one of the areas of India that remain inaccessible especially because of a rule that requi...

About Chakma People

The Chakma women wear an ankle length cloth around the waist which is called a PINON. A PINON must have a SAABUGIH, which is an intricately designed pattern running across the length when worn, failing which the cloth cannot be called a PINON. They also drape a much more intricately designed cloth above the waist called a HAADI. The Chakma women also wear traditional silver ornaments. Chakma women are excellent weavers and creative designers, who weave their own traditional dresses, using the Chakma traditional handloom called BEIN. The equipments that make up the chakma traditional handlooms is collectively known as SOZPODOR. Usually the chakma women design a number of intricate patterns on a piece of cloth which is called AALAM. This is subsequently used as a reference, and patterns from the AALAM are combined, mixed and matched to create beautiful designs on their traditional dresses. Earlier the Chakmas would grow cotton in their jhums alongside rice, maize, fruits, spices an...
